Vintage French woven wicker shallow oval flower basket harvest trug

A charming vintage or antique basket with woven wicker and wood twig body.
This rather wonderful shallow wide oval basket is a good generous size and would make a fabulous flower girl's basket for a wedding. It is just perfect for using in the flower cutting garden too.
It is also perfectly useable for collection, display and storage of eggs, fruits, mushrooms, nuts and other kitchen goodies, shopping at the market, or even bathroom towels & toiletries, office sundries, threads and yarns, crafting supplies... the only limit on its use is your imagination.

This old item has a history but is in good vintage condition. There are a few splits and breaks to the wicker and twigs, and a small hole to one side, please see photos for condition. The basket is sturdy.
The hoop handle is formed from a bent branch or twig, probably ash or sycamore.


We are able to post out parcels from Metropolitan France and shipping fees are shown. Please allow plenty of transit time, as European post is notoriously slow!

**Please also note that deliveries within France and some other European Union countries are usually made to a Pont Relais collection point, there are usually a number of these located in shops and supermarkets in each town, and you will be given the opportunity to specify which one you prefer if this service is available for your location. Otherwise I will select the shop with the longest opening hours within your area. Deliveries to most other European destinations are generally to your doorstep unless it is much cheaper to use Pont Relais.
