Antique French enamel metal floral decorated time worn chamber candle stick

A wonderful French enamel candle holder probably from the early 20th century.
This piece puts one in mind of wee willie winkie and would have been used to light the way up stairs to bed.
The candle holder column sits in a saucer. This design was very practical, as it caught the dripping wax and kept the flame away from the person holding it even when moving around. It also could be safely left lighted at night at the bedside until the candle burned down.

There is some chipping, rust and aging to the enamel, as shown in the photos, to be expected in a piece which is probably well over 60 years old.
Size approx height 6.5cm, diameter across base 14cm.
There is a maker's mark B&W on the base.
