Antique style French ornate vintage gilt metal pair of wall lights with glass lustres

A lovely pair of old French gilt metal wall lights.
These wall lights are classical in design with a flat cast metal back plate having incised detail echoing the outline shape. There are cut sheet brass flower petal shape cups serving as the bulb holder platforms.
Each wall light has a branch for the bulb formed from C scrolls of cast metal tube with square profile.
Each light is hung with loops of brass tube or heavy guage wire forming branches or stems decorated with cut glass drops to reflect the light. These glass pieces are called lustres. Each has a glass flower bead at the head of the droplet.
The top of each back plate is adorned with loops of brass tube forming adjustable hooks from which further droplets hang.
The light fitting on each is covered by a mock candle sleeve with wax drips, these are made of painted wood, slightly tatty but replacements can be bought at homeware stores and online if you prefer. The finish of these light fittings is antique gilt colour. They are cast brass metal with a gilt colour finish.
These lights are from the Twentieth Century.
Size approx height 32cm, width 17cm, depth 18cm. Our French lighting is measured by the ornate metal pieces and does not include the bulb or lustres.
As with all vintage and antique lighting, these should be wired and installed by a qualified electrician.

Deliveries to other European destinations are generally to your doorstep.
