Antique French cast metal ormolu cherub figurine candlesticks pair

Wonderful cherubic figures adorn this pair of antique French cast brass candlesticks.
The heavy cast pieces have a gilt metal finish, they are probably brass and have a good weight to them.
They probably date from the Nineteenth Century, but might even be from the century before.
Each cherub figure is reaching up with one hand, in which is held aloft the saucer and cup for the candle. One foot is attached to the round base which is ornate and features classical gadrooning. The cup and saucer also feature cast detail of scrolls, this is a little rubbed and indistinct in some areas.
The items have a residue of polish or cleaning agent, so they would benefit from some elbow grease to bring back their shine.

Size of each piece approx height 24.5cm, width across base 9.5cm. The collar diameter is approx 6cm and the candle cup 3cm, it holds a standard dinner candle.

Deliveries to most other European destinations are generally to your doorstep unless it is much cheaper to use Pont Relais.
Outside of Europe we use La Poste International parcel service.
The sales tax is included in any sales so there should be nothing extra due to pay when your parcel arrives, subject to customs clearance. *The customer is responsible for any import duties incurred for an item. We will require a PHONE NUMBER to add to the customs forms, to help prevent any delays or transit problems. If you refuse delivery of an item due to customs costs, please be aware that your parcel's postage costs will be forfeit, although we are happy to refund the item purchase price upon return.

We do not sell new or reproduction items so you can expect to find signs of the age and life that the piece has led. We believe this history adds to the story of an item. Obvious damage and faults will always be mentioned in our descriptions but minor age-related condition issues are not considered a detriment.
