Very large antique or vintage French wirework champignons or oyster harvest basket

A charming and unusually large useful vintage or antique panier harvest basket with twisted wirework body and simple turned wooden handle.
Traditionally these baskets were used on the farm to harvest the fruit crops and were also the form of basket used by oyster and mussel gatherers at the coast.
This basket is in relatively good condition, perfectly useable for gathering cut flowers, or collection, display and storage of eggs, fruits, mushrooms, nuts and other kitchen goodies, shopping at the market, or even bathroom soaps & toiletries, office sundries, threads and yarns, crafting supplies... the only limit on its use is your imagination.
The wirework body is patinated with years of use, but the wire and frame are in good condition with only one area where a link has been lost, to one side of the handle, see photo. This does not impact the stability and sturdiness of the basket.

We are able to post out parcels from Metropolitan France and shipping fees are shown. Please allow plenty of transit time, as European post is notoriously slow!

If you refuse delivery of an item due to customs costs, please be aware that your parcel's postage costs will be forfeit, although we are happy to refund the item purchase price upon return.

The courier usually delivers to doorstep in most other European destinations, although a pick up point may be used if it is cheaper, we try to use the best value service for you.
Outside of Europe we use La Poste international parcel service.

We do not sell new or reproduction items so you can expect to find signs of the age and life that the piece has led. We believe this history adds to the story of an item. Obvious damage and faults will always be mentioned in our descriptions but minor age-related condition issues are not considered a detriment.
