Antique French cast bronze d'or ormolu metal pair of Louis XV style curtain hold back hooks

A pair of antique, heavy cast bronze d'or ormolu curtain hold back hooks in classical French chateau style.
These lovely French antique items were originally used to hold back door or window curtains, and can be repurposed as stylish chateau chic coat hooks if you prefer.
The style is rococo in the manner of Louis XV fashion, from the mid Eighteenth Century. The items were probably made in the Nineteenth Century, but in the earlier style which features shell and scrolling foliate motifs.
Size approx 12cm deep, 19cm high, 5cm wide. There are some makers or foundry marks inscribed on the back, which look like G250, and a string of numbers along the hook possibly TG15C? In addition there are later numbers 150 written in marker.
The curtain hold backs have a bright gilt finish, there is a little discoloration and they are a bit bent from holding back heavy drapes. They are not new so their condition reflects many decades of decorative use in a French interior.

Otherwise I will select the shop with the longest opening hours within your area. If you would prefer La Poste domestic delivery PLEASE ASK for a quote.
Deliveries to most other European destinations are generally to your doorstep unless it is much cheaper to use Pont Relais.
Outside of Europe we use La Poste International parcel service.
The sales tax is included in any sales so there should be nothing extra due to pay when your parcel arrives, subject to customs clearance. *The customer is responsible for any import duties incurred for an item. We will require a PHONE NUMBER to add to the customs forms, to help prevent any delays or transit problems. If you refuse delivery of an item due to customs costs, please be aware that your parcel's postage costs will be forfeit, although we are happy to refund the item purchase price upon return.

We do not sell new or reproduction items so you can expect to find signs of the age and life that the piece has led. We believe this history adds to the story of an item. Obvious damage and faults will always be mentioned in our descriptions but minor age-related condition issues are not considered a detriment.
