Antique French heavy cast bronze metal Louis XV rococo style curtain hold back hook

An antique, heavy cast bronze d'or curtain hold back hook in classical French rococo chateau style.
This lovely French antique item was originally used to hold back a door or window curtain, and can be repurposed as a stylish chateau chic coat hook if you prefer.
The style is rococo or Louis XV, from the mid Eighteenth Century. There are some foundry marks or numbers inscribed on the back.
Design details are typically naturalistic with curling leaves, flowers and shell shapes, and asymmetric arrangement of the scrolling foliage. The cast bronze detail is crisp and sharp. This piece could be from the 1760s or it might be a later version in the same style.
Size approx Depth from wall 12cm, height overall 16cm, hook height 11cm, plate height 14cm, width at back 6cm, width at front 7cm.
Condition is a little time-worn, but this item could be three centuries old! The bronze d'or is tarnished, it would originally have had a brighter gilt finish. A clean and polish up and perhaps re-gilding would have this item looking glorious again.

Deliveries to most other European destinations are generally to your doorstep unless it is much cheaper to use Pont Relais.
Outside of Europe we use La Poste International parcel service.
The sales tax is included in any sales so there should be nothing extra due to pay when your parcel arrives, subject to customs clearance. *The customer is responsible for any import duties incurred for an item. We will require a PHONE NUMBER to add to the customs forms, to help prevent any delays or transit problems. If you refuse delivery of an item due to customs costs, please be aware that your parcel's postage costs will be forfeit, although we are happy to refund the item purchase price upon return.
