Antique French Monogram ink stamp cipher or wax seal initials GE

Antique French monogram seal or cipher with ebonised turned wooden handle and brass collar with an oblong engraved stamp which has the letters GE.
This stamp or cipher would have been used with wax or ink, to make the mark of the plate with the letters showing in relief.
The size of the item is approximately 8cm high, and the stamp is approx 1.7cm wide by 1.4cm deep while the handle is 2.5cm diameter at the broadest point.
The stamp is a little timeworn, there is a small indent in the handle, but the base plate is still sharp and prints well.
The date of the piece is probably nineteenth or early twentieth century. There is a good aged patina. This is a beautiful antique French item which would make a lovely gift.
