Antique small French yule log shaped chocolate mould

Antique petite chocolate mould of two halves in the shape of a yule log.
The surface has grooved bark decoration and also has the detail of a knot or two, and grain pattern at the ends. One half has an oblong cartouche in the centre, this could be used to ice detail on to the finished item, such as a name or Merry Xmas, or as a flat area to add holly or little figurines such as Santa.
The pieces would have usually been clipped together with a little metal peg.

Use them as chocolate moulds, to make a traditional yule log, or repurpose as sweet or candy moulds, Christmas pudding moulds or for savoury dishes such as pate and terries, they would make excellent single portions as a starter.
Alternatively they would be very pretty as candle or tealight holders, or strung on your Christmas tree, garland or wreath as unique Christmas decorations.

The moulds are in as found condition so should be cleaned, scrubbed and oiled before use.

Sizes approx length 11.5cm, width 6cm, depth of each side 2cm. These log moulds have 'wings' on each side to allow the moulds to be clipped together for setting, a household wooden peg would suffice for this.

Deliveries to most other European destinations are generally to your doorstep unless it is much cheaper to use Pont Relais.
Outside of Europe we use La Poste International parcel service.
The sales tax is included in any sales so there should be nothing extra due to pay when your parcel arrives, subject to customs clearance. *The customer is responsible for any import duties incurred for an item. We will require a PHONE NUMBER to add to the customs forms, to help prevent any delays or transit problems. If you refuse delivery of an item due to customs costs, please be aware that your parcel's postage costs will be forfeit, although we are happy to refund the item purchase price upon return.

We do not sell new or reproduction items so you can expect to find signs of the age and life that the piece has led. We believe this history adds to the story of an item. Obvious damage and faults will always be mentioned in our descriptions but minor age-related condition issues are not considered a detriment.
