A brocante in a barn

I'm Sheryl and I run the cider barn brocante from the outbuildings of my French farmhouse renovation project.
I left the UK in 2017 to make my home here in the rural region of Pays de la Loire in North West France. It is a step back in time, our farm is set within gently rolling countryside peppered with dairy farms and apple orchards.
The brocante is housed in the original cider pressing building, and the old hydraulic press still sits beside the door. My stock spills out over two floors of the cider barn, and into the courtyard beyond, with further pieces being housed in the hay loft, undercroft and farm cottages. I'm an inveterate hoarder, and the brocante allows me to indulge in my passion for buying French antiques, vintage items and quirky pieces found at vide greniers, estate sales and depot ventes all over the region. Sometimes I find it hard to part with my treasures, and some do sneak their way into the farmhouse for a while before taking their place among the items for sale.
My visitors are welcomed both from the local area, and from the UK. I sell to both private and trade customers, and this year I hope to finish converting one of the cottages here at the farm, as accommodation for buyers.
Our progress on the renovations is funded mostly through sales made in the brocante, and you can see how far we have come on my facebook page, @lepetitmanoirblog.
